Saartje Foundation
The Saartje Foundation for pituitary dwarfism in dogs is a charitable organisation based in the Netherlands and works with the Department of Clinical Science of Companion Animals, University of Utrecht, Netherlands and is the centre for pituitary dwarfism research. The aim of the Foundation is to provide information, advice and support on pituitary dwarfism to Owners, Veterinary professionals, Breeders, Breed Councils and Kennel clubs around the world.

Book about Pituitary Dwarfism Written by the Chairman Tanja Stoetman the Saartje Foundation has produced a book to inform as many people as possible and supervised by Dr. H.S. Kooistra from the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University.
The book gives information about the disorder, how it was possible that about 20% of affected breeds became a carriers of Pituitary Dwarfism, how to prevent the disorder, the effects on the life expectancy and quality of life of dogs with PD, how to treat these effects, and how politics, Kennel Clubs, Breed Councils and breeders around the world react to pituitary dwarfism.
